The Challenge

Bringing a classic board game to a new generation

Gameberry Labs was preparing to launch SORRY! World, the mobile adaptation of the classic board game. The challenge was to drive installs quickly while creating ads that stood out from traditional mobile gaming creatives.

Rather than relying on generic gameplay footage, the team needed a creative strategy that captured the excitement of the original game, connected with different audiences, and identified which messages would drive the strongest performance.

The Approach

Five UGC concepts, one winning strategy

Scrolling Media led the UGC creative strategy, developing five distinct concepts built around family bonding, nostalgia, and everyday household moments.

Each concept was produced through our creator network and launched into paid testing on a weekly cycle. By comparing different emotional hooks, we quickly identified which concepts resonated with audiences and redirected spend toward the strongest performers.

Two concepts emerged as clear winners, both built around Family and Nostalgia. These insights helped the team focus its creative strategy on the messages driving results.

The Result

1M+ downloads in just six weeks

  • Rapid growth. SORRY! World reached over 1 million downloads in its first six weeks following launch.
  • Strong player engagement. The game received more than 25,000 reviews, reflecting its early traction.
  • Winning creative concepts. Two of the five UGC concepts emerged as top performers, with Family and Nostalgia themes driving the strongest results.
  • A repeatable testing strategy. Weekly creative testing helped identify winning concepts early and focus advertising spend on the strongest performers.

Next Steps

Scale winning concepts and explore new creative angles

The results highlighted the value of testing different emotional hooks before committing to a single creative direction.

Building on the success of Family and Nostalgia, the next opportunity is to develop fresh variations of the winning concepts while continuing to test new creators, scenarios, and messaging.

This approach provides a foundation for keeping creatives relevant and identifying new opportunities as the game grows.
